Teams FAQ

The questions people ask before putting a team on a plan, answered in a sentence or two each, with what is and is not built.

Short answers. The longer ones are in Teams, Plans and pricing and How seats are counted.

Is a team a new kind of account?

No. A team is a workspace on the Team or Business plan. The switcher, the members page and the billing page all say "workspace"; the plan is a tag on it.

Do viewers cost anything?

No, and there is no limit on them. A viewer can open what the workspace shares, comment, submit data and join live rooms. Only people who publish use a seat.

Do agents use seats?

Never. One builder can connect as many agents as they like. Keys are per person per workspace, and on every plan an owner or admin can see and revoke them on the Agents page.

Can I invite people to my personal workspace?

No. A personal workspace is one person's. To work with others, create a team workspace; each account may have one unpaid team workspace, and paid ones do not count against that.

What happens to my personal workspace when I join a team?

Nothing. It stays yours and on its own plan. Being on a paid team does not upgrade it.

Can I start a team before Team is on sale?

Team and Business may not be on sale where you are reading this yet. If the pricing page shows a button to start one, you can; if it says coming soon, you cannot yet. A free team workspace, with one builder and unlimited viewers, can be created now.

Is there a trial?

Yes, 14 days, once per workspace, on the first paid plan it takes: Solo, Team or Business. The card is taken up front; cancel inside the trial and nothing is charged.

What exactly do I pay?

Team: $39 a month for 5 seats, then $8 a seat. Business: $299 a month for 25 seats, then $10 a seat. Yearly is ten months for twelve. Solo is $20 a month or $200 a year. How Team and Business pricing works works it through for 5 to 100 builders.

What does "launch price locked" mean?

The first 100 Team and 20 Business workspaces to subscribe before 31 March 2027 keep the launch price for 24 months from their first payment. After that a change applies at renewal and is never more than 25% in a year. The billing page shows the date your lock runs to.

What happens if I add someone mid-month?

On Team, the seat is added the day they accept, prorated for the rest of the month. On Business, the invitation holds one of the seats you bought; if none is free, it is refused and you can buy more, prorated for the rest of the term.

What happens when I remove someone?

Their agent keys for the workspace stop working now, their artifacts stay and are handed to a builder you choose, their private access ends within 24 hours, and on Team the seat is credited on the next invoice. The dialog lists all of it before the button.

What happens when we hit a limit?

Everything already published keeps serving. On Team you are warned at 80%, and past 100% there is 10% of grace before the next publish is refused. On Business nothing is refused: limits are fair use, and we get in touch if you stay over. On Free and Solo the limit is hard.

Can my agent edit a teammate's artifact?

Not yet. A member can edit a teammate's artifact in the dashboard when it is open to the workspace, but agents publish to the workspace under their own person. Cross-member agent access is on the list, not in the product.

Can my teammates see my private artifacts?

Members and viewers cannot, unless you name them on it or open it to the workspace. The workspace's owners and admins can always open everything in it.

Is there an audit log?

On Business: who did what, kept for a year, exportable. Team has the activity feed.

Is there SSO?

No. You sign in with a password, an emailed code, or Google or GitHub. SSO and SCIM are not built and cannot be bought.

Can we pay by invoice?

Business on yearly billing can, net 30, with your purchase order number on the invoice. We set that up with you. Team and Solo are paid by card.

Who gets the emails about money?

Every owner, and the billing email set on the billing page (accounts payable, if you like). Stripe's invoices and receipts go to the billing email. A failed payment is sent to both.

What if our card fails?

Nothing is switched off. Stripe retries for up to three weeks and every owner and the billing email are told. If every retry fails, the workspace moves to Free; nothing is deleted.
